Most news apps and websites today are fundamentally broken. They are boring, drowning in clickbait, and crammed with aggressive ads that swallow the actual content. Even worse, the information you read is often skewed by the hidden agendas and propaganda of corporate investors, promoters, and advertisers. Staying genuinely informed has become a frustrating, exhausting chore in the times of customised algorithms of these apps for every user level.
I built GK Pool to completely smash this cycle. I wanted to eliminate the corporate noise and build a clutter-free, thought-provoking platform where users can focus entirely on self-improvement and making themselves better. By leveraging raw daily news — the very foundation of current affairs and general knowledge — and General Knowledge categorised into structured exam quizzes, GK Pool channels the true power of the internet for a positive, educational purpose. With the skills and resources available to me by the grace of the Almighty, I realized that gamifying news and exam preparation was the absolute obvious next evolution of what I was developing, as a need of every creative mind.
